Troubleshooting & FAQ

Quick answers to the things people run into most often.

The content wobbles or drifts

This is almost always the target image. Glossy, plain, blurry, small or repetitive images are hard to track. Use a detailed, high-contrast, matte image, printed large and lit evenly, and hold the phone reasonably still. See Choosing a target image.

Nothing appears in the viewer

  • Make sure you tapped Start AR and allowed camera access.
  • Point the camera at the correct target image, with the whole image visible and well lit.
  • Check the project is still published (an unpublished link won't open).
  • Make sure the project isn't locked - a locked project's link goes dark (see below).
  • Try a modern browser - Chrome on Android, Safari on iPhone.

My project is greyed out, or its share link stopped working

You're over your project limit, so the oldest projects beyond it are locked: they're greyed out on the dashboard and their public link is offline. This usually happens after a plan downgrade. To bring one back, click Unlock on that card to buy a project slot for it, or upgrade your plan so your limit covers it. Students should ask their teacher. See Dashboard & projects.

Taps don't do anything

  • Confirm you added an On Tap node for that object and wired it to an action.
  • If a node shows a warning badge, the object or scene it referenced was deleted - re-select it in the node.
  • Test in Preview first - if it works there, it will work in AR.

My object won't fade / opacity looks wrong

Add an Opacity track to an animation clip and set two keyframes with different values (for example 0 then 1). Scrub the red playhead to preview the fade in the editor. Make sure the clip is set to autoplay, or triggered by a Play Animation action, so it actually runs.

Publishing says the target couldn't be built

Your target image is likely too plain or too large. Pick a more detailed image and try Publish again. Your project is saved regardless, so nothing is lost.

A 3D model looks wrong or is huge/tiny

  • Very large models are auto-scaled on import, but you can still adjust Scale in the Inspector.
  • For OBJ models, import the .obj, .mtl and textures together so materials come through.
  • Assign materials to tweak how surfaces look.

I forgot my password

Use Forgot password on the sign-in page to get a reset link by email.

Can people use this without installing an app?

Yes. The viewer runs in a normal phone web browser - your audience just opens the link or scans the QR code.
