Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 9 July 2026

These terms govern your use of AR Works (ar.works) - a web-based augmented-reality authoring service operated by Qode LTD ("Qode", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17259547, registered office Liberty House, 30 Whitchurch Lane, Edgware, England, HA8 6LE. AR Works is a Qode LTD product. Contact: privacy@ar.works.

1. Agreeing to these terms

You accept these terms by creating an account (ticking the box at registration), subscribing to a paid plan, or using the service. If you don't agree, please don't use AR Works. Self-service registration requires you to be at least 13 years old; if you are under 18, make sure a parent, guardian, or your school agrees to these terms on your behalf. Student accounts are created by schools - see section 8.

2. The service

AR Works lets you build augmented-reality experiences in the browser, upload media, and publish experiences to a share link and QR code that anyone can open on a phone. We improve the service continuously and may add, change, or remove features; where a change materially reduces a paid feature, we will give you reasonable notice.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials confidential.
  • Your account is personal - don't share it or use someone else's.
  • Tell us promptly at privacy@ar.works if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Plans and limits

The service has a Free plan and paid plans (currently Pro and Education). Each plan has usage limits - for example the number of projects, total storage, scenes per project, and maximum upload size - which are shown on the pricing page and enforced by the service. We may adjust Free plan limits at any time and paid plan limits with reasonable notice.

5. Subscriptions, payment, and cancellation

  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include any applicable VAT. Your card statement will show QODE - AR Works is a Qode LTD product.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically (monthly, or yearly where offered) until cancelled. You can cancel any time via Manage subscription in your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid features until then. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan (your projects and media are kept, subject to Free plan limits).
  • If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it; if it continues to fail we may downgrade your account to the Free plan.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing period, and you can cancel before they take effect.

Your 14-day cooling-off right

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing. By subscribing you ask us to provide the service immediately. If you cancel within the 14 days, email privacy@ar.works and we will refund the payment less a proportionate amount for the time you had the service. Renewal payments are otherwise non-refundable, without affecting your statutory rights.

6. Your content

  • You (or your school) keep ownership of everything you create and upload. You grant us a licence to host, store, process (for example compiling AR tracking targets and generating previews), and - for projects you publish - publicly transmit your content, solely to run the service.
  • You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload, and for anyone you share your published links with. Publishing makes a project available to anyone with the link until you unpublish it.
  • Don't include personal data about other people in project content, asset names, or uploads unless you have their agreement (for pupils, the school's agreement).

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • upload or publish content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful, or harmful - or any content that exploits or endangers minors;
  • upload malware or attempt to probe, overload, or disrupt the service or bypass its security or usage limits;
  • use the service to collect other people's personal data without authority;
  • resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these terms, and where a breach is serious or repeated, terminate the account.

8. Education plan and school accounts

  • By purchasing the Education plan you confirm you are authorised to act for the school or institution named at checkout. An organisation is created for the school with up to 100 student seats, and your account becomes its teacher account.
  • Teachers create and manage student accounts, and the school is responsible for them: for obtaining any consents its policies require, for using minimal student data (we recommend class aliases rather than personal emails and real names), and for what students upload.
  • For student personal data, the school is the data controller and Qode processes that data on the school's instructions - see the Privacy Policy.
  • If the Education subscription ends, the organisation and its accounts remain but revert to Free plan limits.

9. Our intellectual property

The AR Works software, site, and branding belong to Qode LTD and its licensors. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

10. Availability and third-party components

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service - maintenance, updates, and events outside our control can cause interruptions. AR experiences depend on your device, browser, camera, and lighting, and the viewer relies on open-source libraries served from a public CDN; results vary across devices. The service is provided "as is" to the extent the law allows.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law - including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, and (for consumers) your statutory rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, or loss of data caused by events beyond our reasonable control, and our total aggregate liability arising out of the service is limited to the greater of £100 or the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Ending the agreement

You can stop using AR Works at any time and ask us to delete your account at privacy@ar.works. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where the law requires it; where practical we will warn you first. On deletion, your content is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will post the new version here with an updated date, and give at least 30 days' notice of material changes that affect paid plans. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction - except that if you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK or EU, you keep the protection of your local mandatory consumer rules and may bring proceedings in your home courts.
