Publishing & sharing
When your project is ready, publish it to get a public link and QR code that open your experience in AR on any phone.
Publishing
- Click Share in the top bar.
- Click Publish & create link. Your link and QR code appear right away. AR Works then prepares each scene's target image on the server in the background so it recognises fast on phones - you can close the dialog or keep editing while it finishes, and the dialog shows a green “AR target ready” note when it's done.
- You get a link (
ar.works/view.html?s=…) and a QR code. Copy the link or let people scan the code.
Tip
Updating a published project
You can keep editing after publishing - your changes save automatically. If you change a target image, AR Works rebuilds it in the background so the live experience catches up. The share link stays the same, so anything already shared keeps working.
Unpublishing
Open Share and click Unpublish to take the experience offline. The link stops working until you publish again.
Custom loading screen (Pro & Education)
By default the viewer shows AR Works branding while it loads. On the Pro and Education plans (and for school members), the Share dialog has a Loading screen section where you can upload your own image - your logo, say. It is optimised automatically before upload.
Heads up
Export & backup (.works files)
You can download any project as a single .works file - a portable copy of everything in it: scenes, objects, logic, animations, all your imported assets, the prepared AR targets and the project thumbnail. Use it as a backup, keep milestones of your work, or hand a project to someone else.
- Export lives in the editor top bar, and as Export .works in a project's Details dialog on the dashboard.
- To bring a file back, use New project → Import a .works file on the dashboard. Importing always creates a new project (nothing is overwritten), and it counts towards your project and storage limits.
