Dashboard & projects
Your dashboard is home base - every project you own shows as a card with a live thumbnail.
Creating and opening projects
- New project opens a chooser: start a blank project, or import a .works file - a project previously exported from AR Works (see Export & backup). Either way, the new project opens in the editor. An import is a new project of your own, so it counts towards your project and storage limits.
- Open (or clicking the card) opens a project to edit.
- Rename changes its name; Delete removes it for good (this can't be undone).
A green Published badge marks projects that are currently live. Card thumbnails update automatically as you work and when you publish.
Project limits
Your plan sets how many projects you can have. A usage strip at the top of the dashboard shows projects used / your limit. When you're at the limit, New project is greyed out (creating and importing both need a free project slot) until you free up space or add more.
- Buy an extra project - the usage strip has a button to buy one more project slot. It's a one-time payment that permanently raises your limit (it stays even if your plan changes).
- Upgrade your plan for a higher limit (see Account & billing).
Note
Locked projects
If you end up over your project limit - for example after downgrading your plan - your extra projects (the oldest ones) become locked. A locked card is greyed out and marked Locked: you can't open or edit it, and if it was published its public link is unavailable to viewers until it's unlocked.
To bring a locked project back:
- Click Unlock on that card to buy a single project slot for it, or
- Upgrade your plan (or delete other projects) so you're back under your limit.
Tip
Project details
Click Details on a card to see everything about a project at a glance:
- Whether it is published, and its share link.
- How many scenes, objects and assets it contains.
- How much storage it is using (the total size of its uploaded media).
- When it was created and last updated.
The dialog also has an Export .works button that downloads the whole project as a single backup file - see Export & backup.
